  HARMAN has made the strategic decision to continue the consolidation of its Manufacturing and Engineering facilities into Centers of Excellence and will close its operations in Vienna as a result. HARMAN is encountering an intense competition and changing needs of customers in the consumer electronics and automotive industries. Our ability to adapt to the changing market place keeps the company successful. Over the years HARMAN has built up Centers of Excellence to maximize efficiency through scale and productivity. These Centers of Excellence for the Professional Solutions and Lifestyle Audio Divisions are located outside Vienna and it is with great regret all functions will move to locations outside of Austria. While the manufacturing and engineer locations will move, we remain committed to providing our customers with the same ›outstanding innovation and quality that AKG is known for.

  We understand the impact on our employees and the Vienna community that we’ve been a part of for many years. We have given this decision a careful consideration and evaluated all options before we pursued this route. These actions are necessary to prepare HARMAN for future growth. In order to improve our leading position in an increasingly competitive marketplace, we have had to make strategically crucial decisions.

  AS APPROPRIATE ADD THIS STATEMENT (PRIMARILY AUSTRIA/GERMANY)

  We initiated conversations with the Works Council aiming to secure the best possible conditions for both parties. We will focus on securing a fair social plan and outplacement support. Throughout the entire process, HARMAN will remain fully engaged with its responsibilities towards its employees.

  哈曼集团作出战略性的决策，会继续将生产制造及工程部门整合至其“卓越中心”(Centers of Excellence)之中;而相应的最新举措就是将其在维也纳的部门搬迁至“卓越中心”。哈曼在全球范围内的消费电子和汽车音响产业中身处激烈的竞争，客户的需求也正在不断变化，而对不断变化的市场环境的及时应变能力正是哈曼的成功之道。多年来哈曼通过设立“卓越中心”(Centers of Excellence)在规模和产能方面最大化地提高了生产效率。这些为专业音响解决方案以及生活时尚音响部服务的“卓越中心”(Centers of Excellence)目前都设立在维也纳以外的地方，很遗憾的是原来位于维也纳的部门也将全部搬出奥地利。虽然原有的生产制造以及工程部门将会搬离，但我们承诺将继续为我们的客户与消费者提供AKG引以为豪的卓越创新与优异品质。

  鉴于在过去的许多年中我们早已成为维也纳的一部分，我们明白这个决定将会给工厂员工及当地社区所带来的影响。在作出这个决策之前，我们已经评估了所有可能的选择，这一决定是经过深思熟虑的。这一系列的举动都是为了帮助哈曼集团在未来实现增长做好准备。为了在竞争日益激烈的市场环境中不断提升我们的领导者地位，我们必须作出富有战略意义的关键决策。
